Historically when a domain name was registered with Telivo we automatically set-up the domain with an active catchall email forwarder, this would forward any email sent to the domain onto the email address supplied in the users account details.
This industry practise has been very much abused by spammers, who carry out what are known as "dictionary attacks" on domains, where they simply forward multitudes of junk mail addressed to random addresses within a domain which are then forwarded via the catch-all email forwarder to the email address on the users account.
We no longer offer a catchall email forwarder for the reasons outlined above. Our aim is to:
1. reduce the amount of spam and unwanted email received by our users
2. reduce any issues we may have forwarding legitimate email to other networks or ISP's
Customers with existing catchall forwarders will not be affected for the time being, however if the catchall is deleted it can not be re-created. New registrations or existing registrations without a catchall email forwarder will not be able to create one.
