When working out the upgrade fee we take into consideration three things:
1. The number of quarters left until the renewal date of your current hosting package.
2. The price difference between your current package and the package that your are looking to upgrade too.
3. The telivo upgrade fee (£10.00).
We have developed this method for calculating the upgrade fee so it's fairer and linked to how much usage you will get before the end of your current contract.
The total cost of your upgrade is worked out in three steps:
1. Price difference divided by 4 (to work out the price for each quarter)
2. Multiplied by the number of quarters left on your current package
3. Plus the upgrade fee
Example:
I am a customer looking to upgrade my 'starter hosting' to a 'starter plus hosting' package. I ordered my hosting package 5 months ago now I want to add a Database and some scripting.
My total upgrade cost is worked out as follows:
The difference between a starter and starter plus package is £20.00.
1. £20.00 divided by 4 = £5.00.
I am in month 5 which is still in the 2nd quarter so I have 3 quarters remaining.
2. £5.00 x 3 = £15.00.
Plus the telivo upgrade fee.
3. £15.00 + £10.00.
The final cost of my upgrade is £25.00.
When my hosting is due for renewal (1 year after my original purchase) I will then be billed for 'Starter plus hosting'.
