Telivo are now offering .Biz domain names. So you can either register multiple domain names to ensure no one else can register a similar domain name or as an alternative if the .com/.co.uk is already taken.

What makes a good domain name?

How user friendly and easy to remember is your domain name? If customers have found it once will they remember your name and be able to navigate back?

When registering a domain name you must ensure your name is something that is easy to remember to help your customers find you when they need to. The easiest way to do this is use your company name in full. If you are known by numerous names then ensure they are all registered as domain names and pointing back to the main site to make sure you don't miss out on business. You may feel that registering all the options is expensive but from only £3.00 per annum it really is the most cost effective way to avoid missing out on orders. Weigh up the costs of registration against the value of a missed order/customer. Invest in the future now.

Domain names can be a maximum of 67 characters. By using shorter options or initial letters you could be cutting out some of your customers who don't know these.

Hard to spell names - register all possibilities to ensure your customers get to your site.

Mailguard - Launch date 11th July 2005

This new Spam and Virus filtering system due to launch on Monday 11th July will pick up any potential Spam and Viruses and place them into a quarantine area which means they never clog up your inbox again!

Mailguard is available to all our customers:

Ultra - FREE
Premier - FREE
Starter Plus - £20 + VAT
Starter - £20 + VAT
Email Only - £20 + VAT

From your Mailguard quarantine area you have the option to receive quarantine reports. You can either make this option active or inactive. If you choose active you also have the option to receive reports daily or weekly.

To log on to Mailguard just type yourdomainname/mailguard i.e. http://joebloggs.co.uk/mailguard and login with your email address and password. Your quarantine area will show you your virus list and your spam list. From here you can un-quarantine any emails, delete emails, search and access your settings.

Un-quarantine
If you un-quarantine an email it will be sent to the original mailbox address.

Delete
All Spam and Virus emails are automatically deleted after 30days, but you can also delete manually either one by one or all at once.

Search
The search option searches text from the email Subject Line and From sections.

Settings
Under the settings option you can make reporting active or inactive. If you select inactive no reports will be sent and the Mailguard will delete these emails when they are over 30days old. You can also change the frequency of active reporting to either daily or weekly. Quarantine reports can be sent to an alternative email address and you can also alter the spam score, which is currently set to 8 (moderate). We do however suggest that if you suffer from a high number of spam and viruses to reduce this number further. Telivo will continue to update, improve and enhance these settings over the coming months.

The Online To Do List!

Do you have a grocery list that hangs on the fridge door that no ones uses? Or do you have a habit of forgetting things that need doing? Well maybe Tadalists can help!

I recently found this great site and since then I have been using it for all kinds of lists!

Once you have signed up (FREE) at www.tadalists.com you get a chunk of the web where you can make and manage lists of things to do. You can have as many lists as you like, related to any topic you might imagine. Having logged in to your free account, it's up to you to create lists that are useful to you. You have full control over each list, BUT why do all the work yourself, you can share your lists with other people, so that shopping list can be updated by Mum at Work, Dad and even the kids from their classroom computers. Just think even small societies or club members who don't meet up often could keep in touch and manage a list of tasks.
