Telivo Affiliate Scheme

Start earning money by referring friends, family or your own website traffic to us. The telivo affiliate scheme allows anybody to earn commission on sales of our domain and hosting products. Simply sign up for our free affiliate program, then anyone that clicks your affiliate link and purchases a product with us earns you money!

Potential Affiliate Earnings

All telivo affiliates can earn up to 10% commission for every referral sale. Our checkout system will log all referrals and sales through your personalised affiliate link. Affiliate links can be placed on websites, newsletters or even regular e-mails enabling our affiliates to maximise their potential income.

How To Become An Affiliate

Registration is a very simple process and consists of the following stages:

Stage 1
Simply click the Sign Up link to our 128-bit secure signup form and fill it out. Affiliate accounts are created immediately so you can start adding links and making money today.

Stage 2
Once you have completed the sign up form you will have access to our Affiliate Control Panel section using your new telivo affiliate username and password. Here you will be able to view statistics, edit account information and access your personal affiliate HTML code. The affiliate scheme provides a large array of banner and text links to use on your web pages.

Stage 3
The next stage is to cut and paste the html link code from the Affiliate HTML section on the control panel into your web page. It is essential that the code is copied exactly and not modified. This code is used to determine which affiliate account is the referrer. Any modification to this code will result in loss of earnings.

Stage 4
The last stage is to analyse the stats and view the affiliate earnings on a daily, monthly or yearly basis. This will enable affiliates to monitor exactly what they are earning.

Are you getting too much spam? [top]

Are you sick of receiving junk/spam email messages from people you don't know? Well we have a few ideas to help you reduce them and maybe get rid of them altogether.

Some ways to reduce the amount of spam you are receiving are:

  1. Sign up to Mailguard. Mailguard is an advanced e-mail security and protection system designed to help safeguard e-mail from viruses, spam, worms, malicious content and other email threats. When an e-mail is sent it normally passes through a number of machines that route the message as it travels from the sender to the recipient. Mailguard acts just like one of these routers but with the added security benefits of filtering viruses + spam messages and shielding your inbound mailserver address from spammers and hackers. If your hosting package does not include Mailguard Virus & Spam Filtering you can add it as an additional feature by logging into http://yourdomainhere.com/siteadmin. If you don't have a hosting plan visit www.telivo.com/web-hosting for more information and pricing.

  2. Disable your catchall email address in your admin section. We offer this to all customers not using one of our hosting packages so you don’t miss any emails but, spammers sometimes guess, and sometimes employ dictionary spam attacks (that is, appending words from a dictionary to your website address such as John@yourdomain.co.uk etc.), barraging you with unwanted megatonnage of useless email, so disabling the catchall is extremely helpful. Set up the email addresses you want such as sales@yourdomain.co.uk, support@yourdomain.co.uk, joeblogs@yourdomain.co.uk, etc by selecting the setup forwarding from your admin section.

  3. Do not display email addresses on your website. Spammers use automated programs to collect email addresses on web pages and will then sell them on to more spammers. Once your email address has been live on your site for a few months, the spammers have most probably got it.

  4. Also try not to display your email address in newsgroup postings and chat rooms.

  5. Use protected forms for email. Ask your web designer to use email forms instead of plain email addresses. The problem is this is sometimes not enough as most email forms display an error message (which includes the webmaster email address) if the form is not filled out when the send button is clicked. Spammers have found a way to trigger this without actually visiting your website. Get your email form to display a message when the form hasn't been filled out. For example, you have not completed this form please fill out and click the Send button.

  6. Check the privacy policy when you submit your address to a website. See if it allows the company to sell your address. You may want to opt out of this provision, if possible, or not submit your address at all to websites that won't protect it.

  7. Why not use two email addresses, one for personal use and one for newsgroups and chat rooms.

  8. Do not use generic email addresses. Even if your email address is not displayed on your website, addresses like info@yourdomain.co.uk are so common spammers know to try it. Try to think of something more unique.

We hope this has been of some help to you. Email forwarding customers, if you wish to disable your catchall and add email addresses visit your admin section: www.telivo.com

Are all the best domain names already taken? [top]

If your quick enough you can get the Domain Name you have always wanted!

A lot of them were registered years ago BUT every day thousands of domains are surrendered by their owners who fail to renew or pay for the registration fees on their expiring domains. These domain names are made available again and this creates an opportunity for you to own a domain that may have been registered as long as two years ago! When a domain owner fails to pay the registration renewal fees on a domain, that domain is placed on hold for a short period of time. If the domain owner pays the outstanding registration fees while the expired domain is on hold, he/she regains control. If the fees are not paid before the on hold period ends, the domain is deleted from the master domain registry. Once deleted, the domain is just like any domain that is not registered; it is available for anyone to register.

Many "surrendered" domains are re-registered within days or even hours of being deleted, so don't let your name expire and become available due to missing the deadline and not paying renewal fees.

For more information on Domain Names and the features you will receive visit Telivo Domain Names.

Is there a domain name that you or your company are particularly interested in?

You can view the status of all domain names via the Whois database. This can be accessed via the Telivo website http://www.telivo.com. Type the domain name into the search box and follow the links. If the domain name is available you can purchase it by adding it to your basket. If it is already taken you will be directed to the Whois database via a link where you can review the owners details, see when it was registered, which registrar agent registered it, and when it was last updated.

Commercially the right domain names will help improve the profile of your business and ensure you strengthen it on the Web. Domain names produce a feeling of professionalism. If you are trying to do business on the Web, a domain name is essential. There is a perception that sites hosted under their own domain names are more professional than free sites or ISP-hosted sites with long convoluted addresses. Ensure that your domain name is both memorable and enduring.
