Authenticated SMTP - MS Outlook 2007

Below is the guide for authenticating yourself with the SMTP mail server using Outlook 2007.

  1. 1. Open up MS Outlook 2007.
  2. 2. On the Tools menu click Account Settings, a pop up window will appear.

  3. 3. Select the account you wish to edit and click the 'Change' button.
  4. 4. Change the 'Outgoing mail server (SMTP)' address to 'mail.' followed by your domain name (excluding www, mail.yourdomain.com). Then click 'More Settings'.

  5. 6. Now click on the Outgoing Server tab and ensure that the 'use same settings as my incoming mail server' check box is ticked. Then click OK.

  6. 7. Now click Next and then Finish to close the E-mail Accounts window.
