Buying domain names

For information about the different kinds of domains please visit the domain names page.

First you must check to see if the name you want to secure is available, enter the name into the field at the top of the page and click Search.

The results page will display the name with 5 different extensions (.co.uk, .com etc.) and which ones are available. You can choose to add as many of the available domain names to your shopping basket by selecting their checkbox.

Once you have selected the names you want click the Add to basket button. You will be presented with a screen showing you what is currently in your shopping basket. You can continue to search for more domain names using the search facility at the top of the page, empty your shopping basket by clicking Empty Basket or proceed to the checkout by clicking the Proceed button. If you have a special offer code you should enter it here.

When you are ready to checkout you can either click the Proceed button at the bottom of the shopping basket page or click the button at the top of the page.

You are now presented with the first phase of the checkout. If you are an existing customer you will be asked for a user name and password, if you are a new customer you will be required to register.

New Customer

Phase 1 - You must fill out the form with your details. This is designed to make the registration process quicker and easier as these details by default will be displayed as the owner details in phase 2 and the billing details in phase 4.

Now choose a username and password. This will allow you to access the Control Panel area of the telivo web site to set up your web and email forwarding. Also once you are registered you do not need to keep filling out your details every time you return to purchase. You will also be required to select a secret question and answer for added security.

New Customer cont. & Existing Customer

Phase 2 - You will be presented with a page listing all the domains that were in your basket. To the right of each domain name is the link Click here to modify ownership details. If you wish to register the domain on behalf of a company/individual/organisation whose details are different from those you entered in phase 1, you may change them by clicking Click here to modify ownership details then change the relevant details and click 'Next'.

Registering a domain for a third party

Phase 3 - If you wish to register the domain name on behalf of a third party it is recomended that you add a 'new profile' for them. This will allow you to quickly retrieve their details should you ever need to register another domain name on their behalf. You can choose a past profile by selecting it from the drop down menu and clicking the Change button. Or you can create a new profile by clicking the Add New Profile button and filling out the web form.

Making Payment

Phase 4 - Click Proceed. You are now presented with a basket summary.

Click Proceed To Checkout and you are taken to a secure window using Thawte 128bit SSL encryption. The billing information form by default uses the name and address details that you entered in phase 1. If you need to change them you may do so. Once you have entered your credit card information click the Process Payment button at the bottom of the page.

If your payment is successful you will see an invoice. If your payment is unsuccessful you will receive an error message detailing why.

You can view/print VAT friendly receipts at anytime in your telivo control panel.
