Step-by-step Guides

MS Frontpage 2000

To upload your files to the server you will need to use the built in publish function within the FrontPage software.

Please note if you have used any of the FrontPage built in features your website will not work correctly if the extensions are disabled. Once the FrontPage extensions are enabled FTP is disabled. This is due to the way that FrontPage sets the owner permissions for files, which can lead to conflicts and corruption of the extensions if FrontPage is used in conjunction with FTP.

1. On the File menu click Publish FrontPage Web.

2. A pop-up window will appear. In the field 'Specify the location to publish your web to' enter the full address for your domain name e.g. http://www.yourdomain.com . Please note you must make sure you are connected to the Internet before you click Publish.

3. Another pop-up window will appear asking for your Name and Password.

Name = your domain name e.g. example.com

Password = the password supplied in your hosting set-up e-mail

Click OK.

4. FrontPage will now upload the files you have created to the server.
