Configuring MS Outlook 2007

The following instructions are for setting up your e-mail account in MS Outlook XP.

To set up a new e-mail account:

  1. 1. Open up Microsoft Outlook 2007. On the Tools menu click Account Settings, a new window will appear.

  2. 2. Click 'New' and another window will appear.
  3. 3. Select the radio button with the description beginning 'MS Exchange, POP3, IMAP'. Then Click Next
  4. 4. Select 'Manually configure server settings' in the bottom left of the window. Then click next.

  5. 5. Select 'Internet Mail' then click Next.

  6. 6. Fill out the fields with the relevant information that is supplied in your hosting set-up email.
    In the 'Incoming mail server' and 'Outgoing mail server' fields enter 'mail.' followed by your domain name (mail.yourdomain.com) exclude the www.
    Click Next.

  7. 5. Finally click Finish. Your e-mail account is now set up.

If at any time you need to change any of the settings on the Tools menu click Account Settings then select the e-mail account that you want to alter and click the Edit button.
